The origin of Fidelis — and why it still matters today.

Michele and Judy came up through emergency nursing — work that teaches you quickly what real attentiveness looks like. Jonathan brought the operational experience to turn a shared conviction into something that could serve families at scale.

What we kept seeing — in hospitals, in discharge conversations — was a gap. Seniors who needed more than occasional check-ins but didn’t need the full weight of a skilled nursing facility. Families searching for something more intimate, more human.

The residential care home model offered a genuine answer. We believed it could be done with real accountability — not just warmth and good intentions. So we built it that way.

We still answer the phone. We still visit the homes. We still know the residents by name. That’s not nostalgia — it’s how we believe this has to work.

We chose this model because it works.

Large assisted living facilities can be well run, well staffed, and right for some residents. But we kept seeing something that troubled us: seniors receiving adequate care and still feeling invisible. Not neglected — just unseen. Managed rather than known.

A more personal setting changes the math entirely. When a caregiver is responsible for a handful of residents instead of dozens, something shifts. They notice more. They respond faster. They learn the person — not just the care plan.

We chose this model because we believe it produces genuinely better outcomes. After more than 20 years and hundreds of residents, nothing has changed that belief.

Owners & Operators

Jonathan E. Robert, MBA

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Jonathan Robert is a co-founder and managing partner of Fidelis Care Group, bringing over 20 years of experience in senior care. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance and an MBA from Louisiana State University. Jonathan oversees business development, finance, and accounting for the Fidelis group of companies. Before co-founding Fidelis, he spent a decade in the research department of a boutique investment bank. He lives in New Orleans with his wife, Judy, and their four children.

Michele Robert-Duffy, RN

Co-Founder & Owner

Michele Robert-Duffy, a New Orleans native, has been a Registered Nurse for 27 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from LSU Health Science Center after studying Microbiology at Louisiana State University, and later obtained certification in Emergency Room Nursing from California State Fullerton/Saddleback College. Michele has a strong background in Alzheimer’s advocacy, serving as President of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Advisory Board (2008–2016) and Louisiana Ambassador (2012–2016). She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women.

Judy Tujague Robert, RN

Co-Founder & Owner

Judy Tujague Robert is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in senior care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University and has five years of emergency care experience, including at Level I trauma center Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Judy actively supports Alzheimer’s awareness, volunteering annually at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. She is deeply involved in staff supervision and resident care, maintaining close communication with residents’ families to ensure their well-being.

La’Shae James

Administrator, Baton Rouge

La’Shae James has worked as an Administrator for 12 years and provides administrative support to Fidelis Residential Care Homes. A New Orleans native, she studied at Colorado Technical University and developed a passion for senior care while working as a caregiver in a larger facility nearly 18 years ago. Her firsthand experience reinforced her appreciation for the personalized care that smaller facilities provide in improving residents’ quality of life.

Rachelle Robert

Executive Director of Operations

Rachelle Robert, a New Orleans native, is responsible for overseeing staff and operations across Fidelis facilities in Metairie, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and Mandeville. She holds a marketing degree from the University of Alabama and has over 17 years of management experience. Before joining Fidelis 10 years ago, Rachelle worked in New York City for a nonprofit supporting Parkinson’s disease research. She prioritizes building a compassionate and skilled team to care for residents. In her free time, she enjoys sports (especially LSU and the Saints), live music, and spending time with her family and dogs.

Becky Curren, MSW

Director of Sales & Marketing / Social Worker

Becky Curren is a licensed Social Worker with over 18 years of experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master’s degree from Louisiana State University. She spent 13 years at Baton Rouge General Hospital, gaining experience in emergency care, ICU, and geriatric psychiatry. With Fidelis for over four years, Becky serves as a Community Liaison, providing guidance on long-term care options. She is passionate about supporting seniors and their families. Becky lives in Mandeville with her husband, step-son, and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys baking, real estate, and traveling with her family.
